Road to Emilia-Romagna

Road to Emilia-Romagna is a photographic story about Artem Fedunovych and his journey toward Ironman Emilia-Romagna.

Artem is not a professional athlete with a full team behind him. He is an ordinary man with an extraordinary goal — to complete Ironman Emilia-Romagna in under ten hours. Alongside his training, he works a physically and mentally demanding job in gastronomy, creates his own content, builds his presence on social media and continues to push forward without excuses.

The project follows the rhythm of his everyday life: running, cycling, swimming, work, sharing and the rare moments of pause in between.

Running is his greatest weapon and joy — the discipline where the body eventually gets tired and the mind has to take over. Cycling is a relatively new world for him, full of progress, details and the feeling of speed. Swimming remains his biggest challenge, a technical discipline that demands patience, respect and constant improvement.

But the story does not end with sport. It continues in the kitchen, where work has to be done honestly, even when the body is tired. It continues online, where Artem shares his journey in an authentic way, inspiring a growing community of people who follow his progress. And it continues in the quiet moments — over a coffee, in a short pause, before the next challenge begins.

This series is not only about Ironman.
It is about discipline, work, endurance and the reality behind a goal that is much bigger than a race.

Road to Emilia-Romagna is a personal photographic project by Milan Istvan, created in collaboration with Artem Fedunovych.

Do you want to be part of something bigger?

We are looking for a sponsor or supporter to help bring the next stage of this project to life — documenting Artem’s journey at Ironman Emilia-Romagna in Italy through photography and film.

Your support would help cover the production of a photographer / videographer on location and make it possible to tell the full story where the road finally leads: Emilia-Romagna.
